As an editor and producer for Poets.org (a position I held from 2020–24) I was responsible for a variety of different tasks. These included:

  • Overseeing the production of Poem-a-Day, a daily poetry publication with an audience of over 330,000 subscribers, featuring over 250 new, unpublished poems per year

  • Managing the user experience, site accessibility, metadata, and SEO of Poets.org, a website with over 1,000,000 monthly visitors

  • Pitching, soliciting, and editing feature essays for American Poets, a bi-yearly print magazine with a total distribution of over 9000 copies

  • Copyediting and fact checking poems, author bios, author statements, credit lines, and other materials

  • Drafting copy for Poem-a-Day, Poets.org, and American Poets

  • Writing and researching author questions for Enjambments, Poets.org’s  book interview series

  • Developing HTML frontend content for Poets.org and Poem-a-Day Mailchimp campaigns

  • Researching and curating all weekend selections for Poem-a-Day

  • Scheduling Poem-a-Day content via Mailchimp and the Poets.org content management system, as well as on other platforms such as TweetDeck, Facebook Content Studio, Soundcloud, and Megaphone

  • Recording, editing, and mixing audio for the Poem-a-Day podcast

Included here are some examples of that work.
